COFFEE IS A NATURAL MOSQUITO REPELLANT
It’s always a pleasure to drink Covim coffee, at any time of year, even in July – especially in one of our summer recipes. But not many people realise that coffee grounds are an excellent natural mosquito repellent! These annoying little insects just hate the smell of coffee, and a number of studies have demonstrated that coffee grounds are a powerful insecticide, very effective at killing mosquito larvae.
To use coffee grounds as a mosquito repellent, spread them around the outside of your house, especially in damp spots where the insects like to nest and reproduce. Coffee grounds will make these places uninhabitable for them. If you put the coffee grounds in a glass container or on a sheet of aluminium foil, and they get burnt by the sun, they will be even more effective.
