38 CUPS OF COFFEE PER KILOMETRE

Many Italians see the ritual of a morning cup of espresso as the best possible way of fuelling up for a busy day. The unique fuelling power of coffee is so well-rooted in our mentality that a number of inventors have attempted to create an automobile that runs on coffee!
That goal has been achieved, and the coffee-powered car was a highlight of the Geneva automobile show, where there was plenty of discussion about vehicles running on alternative fuels.
All this was made possible by a technology that produces hydrogen and carbon monoxide from coffee grounds; its inventors say it takes the grounds from about 38 cups of espresso to travel one kilometre.
